Surgery and Dentistry
We have available time with our doctors Monday through Friday to meet the surgical needs of your pet. Our surgical suite has state of the art anesthesia monitoring equipment and patient warming devices to ensure your pet’s safety during all anesthetic procedures. We use the safest anesthetics and pain medications to make sure their day is as comfortable as possible. We have the capability to perform dental procedures, from routine cleaning and polishing to x-rays and extractions. We also do routine surgical procedures including spaying and neutering of your pet, as well as preventative medical procedures. We may refer you and your pet to a board certified veterinary surgeon for certain procedures that require specialized equipment. If you have any questions please call our front desk staff for an estimate, or to help you schedule your surgical appointment today.
Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser therapy, the opposite of a cutting laser that uses heat, is used in many instances to heal wounds, help ease chronic conditions such as arthritis and for post-operative incision care to quicken healing time. Overall it is used to reduce pain, improve patient mobility and enhance our patients’ quality of life. The treatment itself is not painful and can often times decrease or completely eliminate the need for your pet to be on an oral pain medication. This practice has been used in human medicine for over 30 years and since adding it to the services we provide, we have seen dramatic success with the use of this therapy tool. If you are interested in learning more, please call us for more information!
This newer way of taking x-rays is the quickest way to view images of your pet. It allows us to see the radiograph clearer than the original ‘film’ technique.
Dental radiography is one way to diagnose a problematic tooth. This digital, mini x-ray gives us a clear view of the entire structure of the tooth, both above and below the gum line. This advanced diagnostic tool allows the veterinarian to gain a helpful perspective that aids in maintaining the comfort and your pet.
Doppler Blood Pressures
This mobile device is a non-invasive way of taking feline and canine blood pressures right there in the room with you. Blood pressure is a test that we use to monitor kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, cardiac disease, and hypertension in your pet.
We have a full in-house diagnostic laboratory that we can run a range of tests to monitor the health of your pet. We run blood chemistry panels, full CBC’s, electrolyte panels, and clotting profiles. We also have the capability to run Heartworm tests, Feline Leukemia and FIV tests in the clinic. All of these tests help us better diagnose your pet with same day results.
We have a wireless electrocardiogram station to check cardiac function of your pet with a colored printout that we can fax or email to referral cardiologists in the area if needed.
A veterinary ultrasound is a diagnostic tool that is used to view tissue and fluids inside the body of your pet. It gives us a better view of the internal architecture of your pets’ organs. Ultrasound can give us a clearer look at potential abnormalities than an x-ray cannot.
